Welcome message ELS 2021

Dear colleagues and friends,

I cordially invite you to the 13th Congress of the European Laryngological Society in Berlin from 26 to 29 May 2021. After the great success of the first digital conference of the ELS 2020 with almost 330 participants from all over the world, we are now expecting you again with an attractive and up-to-date scientific program covering all aspects of modern laryngology. Under the impression of the the current Covid 19 pandemic and given to the good experience at the last congress, we will also include some online elements, both for participants and speakers.

With the fields of Neurolaryngology, Benign Lesions, Respiratory, HPV, Oncology, Phoniatrics, Pediatric Laryngology, Basic Research and General Laryngology our congress is of worldwide interest. Progress and latest developments in the treatment of diseases, injuries, malformations and functional disorders of the larynx will be introduced and discussed at a high level by international guest speakers with outstanding scientific presentations. The joint event of the European Laryngolocical Society (ELS) with the American Broncho-Esophagological Association (ABEA), the American Broncho-Esophagological Association (ABEA) and the European Society of Pediatric Otorhinolaryngology (ESPO) demonstrates the increased intensive ties with our partner societies.

As laryngologists, we represent a challenging field. Regular collegial exchange of knowledge, professional discussions and continuous personal qualification are decisive for the development of a high medical standard in the field of laryngology and the successful care and therapy of our patients. Use our congress as a platform to exchange ideas with experts and outstanding speakers on surgical and non-surgical areas of laryngology and to discuss the latest innovations.

On behalf of the European Laryngological Society, it is my great pleasure to invite you to Germany for the first time since its foundation in 1996. Enjoy your visit to the 13th Congress of the ELS in Berlin, the multicultural stimulating city that gives new impulses - cosmopolitan, colourful, international and always worth a visit.

To a stimulating congress!

Cordially yours,
Prof. Dr. Christian Sittel
President of the European Laryngological Society
