Welcome note

Prof. Christian Sittel

Dear colleagues and Friends,

It gives me great pleasure to invite you to the 13th Congress of the European Laryngological Society in Stuttgart from 17–20 June 2020. It is my aim to offer you an attractive and up-to-date scientific programme in covering all aspects of modern laryngology in a broader sense and for all age groups. We will place particular emphasis on the areas of Neurolaryngology, Benign Lesions, Airway, HPV, Oncology, Phoniatrics, Pediatric Laryngology,m Basic Science and General Laryngology.

Continuous personal qualification is part of the standard in medicine and is a component of quality assurance. Our conference enjoys a broad international interest and will be enriched in the coming year by contributions from international guest speakers. The contact to our partner companies ESPO, BLA, ALA and ABEA will be deepened and strengthened by the participation in this conference. Networks benefit from each other‘s experiences, as do each of us in our everyday clinical lives.

The European Laryngological Society was founded in Germany in 1996. Since then, our biennial congress has never had a chance to find its roots again. So I am all the happier to finally be able to invite you to Germany again 2020. Our conference venue Stuttgart is worth a visit and is considered a particularly green city: About one third of the city area consists of forests and public green spaces. A cosmopolitan outlook combined with a Swabian way of life – this is the trademark of the state capital of Baden-Wuerttemberg. Stuttgart is also one of the most important cultural capitals in Germany. Many events have an international reputation. With nineteen springs, Stuttgart has the largest mineral water deposit in Western Europe and Europe‘s largest zoological and botanical garden.

Enjoy your visit to the 13th Congress of the European Laryngological Society and a trip to the city worth living in! I warmly invite you to Stuttgart!

Cordially yours,

Prof. Christian Sittel
President of the European Laryngological Society
